As we’ve previously mentioned we’ve recently moved house up to North Wales! The house is a new build which is great because it gives us the freedom to work with a nice white, blank canvas. The only downside of purchasing new furniture has to be waiting for it all to be delivered and so we can’t actually share pictures of our room’s on the blog just yet - stay tuned for when we do though! Instead we’ve started thinking about accessories and colour schemes. Below is a mood board featuring pieces that have been catching our eye! Here’s a little round up of what we’ve been loving and a short list of our favourite
places to shop all things home!
Copper, navy and neutral shades of white and grey have been catching our eye at the moment! I’ve decided I want navy or white bedding which I plan on brightening up with tones of orange cushions and throws. We're both very much lovers of colour however I want to keep the overall colour scheme quite simple in order for it to be a place I can really relax.
H&M have brought out some great prints for laundry bags, storage and candles which I think will add really nice touches. I have fallen in love with this pineapple lamp and although I realise it’s probably not for everyone I just think it adds a touch of quirkiness in a subtle way. We think it's important to add personality to your bedroom decor, which can be done obviously or more subtle depending on your preferences.
Accents of copper and marble through frames and storage are really appealing to me as they're a nice refresh from plain wood or plastic. I have to admit the hunt for bedding has been rather challenging and i’ve yet to find a set that I love - let the hunt continue! The products shown in the mood board above can be found at H&M home, M&S home, Urban Outfitters & George at Asda.
TurnerTurner’s favourite home stores:
1. Home sense - Like disney land for home wear enthusiasts! A really cool brand offering an eclectic mix of furniture, accessories and much more. We’re still dreaming about the unique and beautifully crafted pieces that are most definitely a part of our dream rooms.
2. H&M home - Much like the clothing the brand’s home range is really trend focused and offers a great range from premium, organic bedding to the more affordable accessories like jewellery holders and candles. They have a great choice of marble and copper accessories f.y.i.
3. Asda Home - With it’s own separate store from the regular asda, it’s a great place to go for affordable pieces that are still trend led. They have a great choice of cushions and throws and we made sure to pick up the alphabet cushions, in T & T of course, they add a nice personal touch.
4. Urban Outfitters - The home section isn’t all about record players and tapestries, they have a really cool selection of bedroom decor from rose gold side tables to really sleek desk lamps. If you’re looking for home furnishings that are edgy and mix retro with innovative then UO home is the store for you!
