Print.it.out!

This week we've been getting very excitable about going shopping for a fresh holiday wardrobe with Gran Canaria only two weeks away. We've never been shy of donning bold and brightly printed outfits especially during the summer as it's the perfect time of year to experiment with colour! Whether you incorporate print in a subtle way through classic stripes or go for it whole heartedly in a jungle print co-ord, we'll leave that up to you! In this blog post we wanted to share with you printed pieces that caught our attention from browsing the wonderful platform that is online shopping!

This co-ord would look great as a casual outfit for a day of sight seeing with some comfortable flats but would also transition really nicely to night with the simple addition of heels. The tropical print is fun while not being too busy and as the model proves in the picture it will look fab with a tan.

We're really loving the seventies trend this season and this paisley cold shoulder, slip dress shows us how to embrace this retro era with a modern edge. The dark blue base and A-line shape make for a really flattering style of dress that would look great on anyone. Pair with a wedged heel and oversized sunnies and you're good to go!

We love, love, love .... love these floral shorts by Missguided. Aside from the fact that the high waisted tailoring is extremely flattering the bordering detail create a really interesting panelling too. We love the way it's been styled here with a simple black crop top and black accessories as it lets the shorts do all the talking!

If bardot style off the shoulder dresses are your kind of thing then this fit and flare one could be just for you! You don't need to be boarding a cruise on the french riviera to pull off this nautical look. Effortlessly chic paired with a red lip this should be a timeless staple in all our wardrobes.

Pineapples make for a great refreshing juice during the summer but we've found they also make for an equally as cool print on this Topshop jumpsuit. The gold metallic pineapples, low back cut and halter neck details are so quirky and perfect for festival season. Definitely one for the brave but it's good to take fashion risks so embrace the pineapples people!

Now, this maxi dress was too beautiful not to include in a blog post all about print. We can see this turning heads at weddings, balls and any other formal events over the summer. The attention to detail through this oriental print is so lovely while the structured cut outs give it an extra edge.

Thanks for reading! We hope we've inspired you to put away all that black from winter and trade it in for some colour! Print.it.out!

Beaches and BBQ's

There's always something a bit special about a Bank Holiday weekend. It allows us the freedom to have an extended break from work, school, responsibilities and postpones the dreaded Monday blues until Tuesday. Apart from stating the obvious, and expressing our love for this extra day off, we'd like to share our weekend in photos with you guys. From Pimms o' clock to Ships in the Merseyside we've had a cracker of a time in Aberystwyth and New Brighton, so get scrolling to see why!

Pimms & Lemonade, Fresh strawberries, Lemon, Lime and Ice. Refreshing and delicious!

Aberystwyth, Wales.

New Brighton Beach

Thousands turned up to watch the 'Three Queens' line up in the Mersey. Great atmosphere!

The Queen Victoria, Queen Mary and Queen Elisabeth ships. The 175 year Cunrad Celebrations.

Thanks for reading! Hope you all enjoyed your weekends! As University is over for the summer, blog posts will become much more regular and often, as we're living under the same roof now! Fortunately  we have some exciting plans for the summer which include holidays, concerts and tours of our new home from bedroom decor to our surrounding area! In the meantime follow us on twitter and Instagram for more from us! @turnerturner_

S/S clothes haul

We may have gone a little bit crazy whilst shopping in Liverpool which resulted in the beginnings of a fresh s/s wardrobe. To be fair, one of us did turn 19 and so birthday haul's are always going to be slightly more substantial than the usual * cue Will.i.am * "It's my birthday, It's my birthday I'm gonna spend my money" - apologies but it was the anthem of the day. After hanging the clothes we noticed a pattern forming in the number of white items. This is just a sign that we are ready for the sun to make an appearance so that we can show off our sun kissed skin in these lightweight hues and fabrics. There is no clear trend in this haul which varies from a suede T-shirt to a bright orange leather skirt however we've never been followers of fashion that are just dedicated to one particular trend and that's it. Fashion for us is all about having fun with clothes and so we hope you enjoy a little insight into our latest clothing haul and the inspiration behind it.

Homeware Inspo

As we’ve previously mentioned we’ve recently moved house up to North Wales! The house is a new build which is great because it gives us the freedom to work with a nice white, blank canvas. The only downside of purchasing new furniture has to be waiting for it all to be delivered and so we can’t actually share pictures of our room’s on the blog just yet - stay tuned for when we do though! Instead we’ve started thinking about accessories and colour schemes. Below is a mood board featuring pieces that have been catching our eye! Here’s a little round up of what we’ve been loving and a short list of our favourite places to shop all things home!

Copper, navy and neutral shades of white and grey have been catching our eye at the moment! I’ve decided I want navy or white bedding which I plan on brightening up with tones of orange cushions and throws. We're both very much lovers of colour however I want to keep the overall colour scheme quite simple in order for it to be a place I can really relax. H&M have brought out some great prints for laundry bags, storage and candles which I think will add really nice touches. I have fallen in love with this pineapple lamp and although I realise it’s probably not for everyone I just think it adds a touch of quirkiness in a subtle way. We think it's important to add personality to your bedroom decor, which can be done obviously or more subtle depending on your preferences. Accents of copper and marble through frames and storage are really appealing to me as they're a nice refresh from plain wood or plastic. I have to admit the hunt for bedding has been rather challenging and i’ve yet to find a set that I love - let the hunt continue! The products shown in the mood board above can be found at H&M home, M&S home, Urban Outfitters & George at Asda.

TurnerTurner’s favourite home stores:

1. Home sense - Like disney land for home wear enthusiasts! A really cool brand offering an eclectic mix of furniture, accessories and much more. We’re still dreaming about the unique and beautifully crafted pieces that are most definitely a part of our dream rooms.

2. H&M home - Much like the clothing the brand’s home range is really trend focused and offers a great range from premium, organic bedding to the more affordable accessories like jewellery holders and candles. They have a great choice of marble and copper accessories f.y.i.

3. Asda Home - With it’s own separate store from the regular asda, it’s a great place to go for affordable pieces that are still trend led. They have a great choice of cushions and throws and we made sure to pick up the alphabet cushions, in T & T of course, they add a nice personal touch.

4. Urban Outfitters - The home section isn’t all about record players and tapestries, they have a really cool selection of bedroom decor from rose gold side tables to really sleek desk lamps. If you’re looking for home furnishings that are edgy and mix retro with innovative then UO home is the store for you!

If you're currently thinking about updating your bedroom decor we hope this post helps to give you some inspiration with what to buy and where to shop! In the meantime we're going to continue turning to Pinterest for an endless amount of decor ideas and serious bedroom envy!

Exploring Liverpool

This weekend we celebrated one half of TurnerTurner's 19th Birthday by making a trip to Liverpool so we could do some shopping, dining and just overall strolling around the city! We decided to get the train in to James street station so that we could have a walk around the docks which was so lovely as the weather was very good to us! We didn't have time to go into the TATE museum or the Beatles experience however they are definitely on the agenda the next time we make a visit! The city is rich with history with many maritime monuments, the old great western railway station, historical ships, as well as being a great spot for retail therapy - especially in the Liverpool one shopping centre. We plan on sharing our clothes haul with you in the next blog post but for now here's some photographs from our fun filled family day out!
