London Wonder-ground

It's not often that you just accidentally stumble upon a fairground while sight seeing, however we were more than happy that we did. The London Wonderground, situated beside the Jubilee Gardens, is open and free to enter until the end of September and we fully recommend a trip to this fairground even if you're just in passing. Colourful paper lanterns and an abundance of lights are hanging in the trees as you walk in, the atmosphere is instantly inviting. Music is playing from the many bars and food stands inside from hot dogs to candy stands there's a real sense of the fairground around you. If the London eye doesn't appeal to you, then maybe seeing London from the sky at the ride emporium is for you instead. The main area is filled with picnic benches and deck chairs which offer great spots to have a drink, grab a bite and relax after a busy day of walking around London.

We continued to stroll along the South Bank and on our way to Waterloo Underground Station we walked through the kaleidoscopic experience which was created by #sparkyourcity. Jungle prints and Mirrors adorn the tunnel in a completely fresh and exciting way, we couldn't help but stop and take pictures as our eyes were mystified by the concept of it all.

We thoroughly enjoyed our day in London and have many more pictures and thoughts to share with you over the next few posts.

Choco-Cranberry Cookies

So this recipe is incredibly quick and easy to follow which makes more time for enjoying the cookies with a nice cup of tea once they are fresh out the oven and have had a bit of cooling time (resist the urge to eat one immediately your burnt mouth will not thank you for it).

200g Softened butter

300g Caster sugar

1 egg

325g Self raising flour

Chocolate chips (not in the photo.. oops)
Dried Cranberry fruit

Pre heat your oven to 200°c
Cooking time: 10 - 12 minutes

Method:

Measure out the caster sugar and the softened butter using your scales and add them into your mixing bowl. Mix the two ingredients together either by using a mixer or the old fashioned way with a wooden spoon (work those arm muscles) and do this until it's creamy. Add an egg to the mixture and continue to mix that in.

Weigh the flour and then use your sieve to gradually add the flour and mix as you go along. Now it's time to add the chocolate chips and the cranberry pieces, use a wooden spoon to fold them into the delicious cookie dough. Lay grease proof paper on an oven tray(s) and apply half a handful sizes of dough onto the tray(s) (don't worry too much about the sizes, just as long as they have spaces between them so that they don't stick together).

Pop your cookies into the oven for 10 -12 minutes, Keep an eye on them as you don't want any burnt edges!

Ideally you want the cookies to have golden edges and lighter middles which will give you that crunchy outside with a gooey centre! You can always make the mixture go further by splitting it up into smaller sized dough pieces and on reflection we wish we'd added more chocolate.. because who can ever have enough chocolate!

Hope this recipe and post has inspired you to get baking! We're blaming the Great British Bake Off for our obsession with all things cake, cookies and anything sweet! Side note, Mary Berry is a hero and we are so happy the series is back on our television screens!

High Street Favourites

We don't know about you, but we are ready for autumn now. Our typically british summer lasted for about two weeks so now we're more than happy for our wardrobes to start transitioning. Retailers have started filtering in new stock for A/W 15 and we're loving it already! Bring on the suede jackets, long sleeved shirt dresses and a darker, warmer, colour palette! The seventies trend is here to stay, but we feel that it's getting a much more modern update for autumn which is fab! Zara, Topshop and Forever 21 are three of our high street favourites. Zara for it's beautifully crafted designs, Topshop for it's staple pieces and Forever 21 for fast fashion updates! So here's our top picks from our favourites!
