Insta' faves

Instagram is an app that has most definitely been firmly integrated into our everyday lives. Hours are spent scrolling and exploring, looking to our favourite accounts for daily inspiration! Since moving house we've not been able to access this fantastic app as often as we like due to a lack of wifi (now that really tests a bloggers patience) however it means we've been visiting new areas to access the life changer that is wifi! From coffee shops, supermarkets to the library we're doing what we can to stay up to date with our insta obsession!  Now call us crazy but we know if you're reading this you'd probably do the same! Now let's talk you through our fave insta accounts that you should already know and follow, if not you know what to do!

Retro and ladylike and just really charming! Ice cream and flowers with pops of fashion and travel! we love that this insta account includes so many pictures of mouth watering food like pancakes, burgers and most importantly coco pops! (sad as it sounds they are dear to our heart) Everything is photographed so beautifully and really inspires us to take the best quality pictures that we can - so that we don't have to rely too much on insta filters! Side note her hair and feline eyeliner flicks are always on point and have us pining for everything vintage!

After recently moving to Flintshire in North Wales we have found that this insta account has been a great way of keeping in touch with our old town. Aberystwyth on the west coast of wales is a really beautiful seaside town which is hard to leave but always really easy to come back to as the people and the place are just so lovely! The promenade, castle, pier and this view from constitution hill offer opportunities for stunning scenes like this one!

(images taken from asos_megan)

We really look to all the asos stylists for style inspo as they each have a really individual aesthetic that inspires us in different ways! Saying that megan is probably our go to gal for our what to wear inspo! At the moment we to are having a denim love-in and we adore the way megan has been rocking the seventies trend this season! If you love alexa chung effortless cool then megan is your girl! We have to add that asos_gamze, asos_rachelmae and asos_isabella are also firm favourites!

lauralftn

This UK blogger currently living in new york gives us serious lifestyle envy! we’re still reminiscing about our trip to new york last september and this lady’s account is only making us want to go back that much more! In so many words we wish we had her life right now! sitting here in the library in North Wales hardly compares to writing a blog post in a starbucks in NYC! Laura's account is the go to for beautiful architecture and scenes of the city that are less touristy and more edgy!

(images taken from the beauty crush)

We're aware that we’re not the only ones that watch her you tube channel and absolutely love her personal style! Like the rest of her followers we aspire to travel to the same events and countries that are documented on this account! Her hair is so, so cool and we only wish ours would look like that (trust us we try) but this girl’s unique look and style is hard to replicate! Above anything we have serious puppy envy, Franklin and Riley are so adorable and after just moving house and away from family and friends a couple of puppies would be ideal right now! Overall just a really cool girl with an even cooler insta account!

lovelypepa

Aside from being extremely envious of her personal style and travels which we've probably said a million times already, this gal makes any outfit look effortless and seems to have a great attitude to life which is not taken too seriously! Her 'lob' is the haircut to have this season and her highlights that run through it have us wanting to rush to the hairdressers now! Overall her Instagram feed is like a holiday brochure full of dream destinations!

And that's it for now folks, we really wanted to include more of our favourites so I'm sure we'll be back with a part two to this blog post soon! We hope we've given you some inspiration through this list of insta faves!

Thanks for reading!

Style Guide: Pastel Picks

It's that time of the year again, Easter is on the chocolatey horizon.. let's just take a moment to get excited.. it's exactly that which has inspired this latest post. Chocolate. Furthermore, mini eggs (the Queen B of easter time, next to the creme egg). The pastel hued shells are bang on trend and never fail to brighten up any outfit perfect for spring time. We wore the pastel shades during the winter in the form of bold oversized coats but now it's time to shed the excess material and experiment with pastels from low-key accessories to statement pieces. We've created a style guide, based on the various pastel shades that we're loving from our favourite high street retailers, just to give you guys an idea of what's out there right now!

(images taken from Pinterest)

Pastel Pink is a great alternative to white and looks just as chic when paired with the right materials and accessories. We love the way these Zara trousers have been teamed with this loose straight cut shirt, a more casual take on formal wear that can be dressed up or toned down depending on the occasion. Alternatively this pleated wrap kilt is this beautiful new shape and style of skirt. We adore how Topshop have styled this with a black leather jacket in order to mix the girly with the grunge.

Trousers - Zara
Skirt - Topshop

Mint is quite honestly our favourite shade of green and although we genuinely love the shade for our nails a statement piece in mint green is slightly less appealing. This comes down to personal taste but that doesn't mean you can't go to town on mint green if that's what you want to do! If you've got it flaunt it in this simple yet very charming bikini set, that colour matched with a sun kissed glow is a dream we can only hope for! As far as the shoes go, who doesn't love a block heel, especially in this gorgeous shade and style. As cringe worthy as it is, these mint staples really are fresh.

Shoes - Topshop

Lemon yellow, granted may not be the easiest shade to pull off nor the most preferred of the bunch however we have been converted by these Zara Jeans. Teamed with a stripy double pocket shirt this look is effortlessly cool and really wearable. For those who are less inclined, this zesty little clutch bag screams spring/summer and will brighten up any outfit. The envelope style and gold detailing gives it that desirable edge without it being overpowering with zing!

Jeans - Zara
Clutch bag - New Look

Looking for a way to update your wardrobe and look just peachy this spring, then these items could be just perfect for you! This kimono inspired printed jacket from H&M would add the right amount of sass and style points to liven any dull outfit and could be paired with a dress for cocktails with the girls or denim jeans for the daytime, so versatile. Footwear just got a lot more interesting with these peach cut out brogues from New Look. We picture these adding a pop of pastel to a tailored monochrome outfit, mixing formal with playful.

Jacket - H&M
Shoes - New Look

Baby blue used to be only associated with baby boys however this shade is not to be forgotten when compiling pastel pieces for your wardrobe this season girls. As you know we are British and so we're famously renowned for our bad weather, this means we're rarely guaranteed sunshine nor warmth, so it's wise to invest in a coat/jacket even in the spring season. However do not fret as we have found this pale blue lightweight coat by River Island that is absolutely heavenly. As far as accessories go, look no further than this pale blue satchel from Topshop. It's petite size is perfect to carry just the essentials, and as we all know sometimes carrying a larger bag makes us carry more than we need, so strip it back to basics for this staple piece of arm candy.

Jacket - River Island
Satchel - Topshop

Lilac is one of those hues that is extremely flattering on any skin tone. It's a great alternative to pink and looks great paired with white just like the outfit above all by Missguided. This goes for all of the pastel tones as white is a great canvas for a pop of colour while still keeping it minimal! This relaxed T-shirt looks really cool tucked into a high waisted shirt and can also be worn with a pair of skinny jeans and a leather jacket for daytime. The subtle option is to sport this ladylike rose gold and lilac Olivia Burton watch. We've lusted over this watch brand for months and the spring update is as beautiful as we expected!

T shirt - Missguided
Watch - Olivia Burton

Side note...

*Lupita Loving*

And even though it's not everyday occasion wear we can't think about pastel hues and not dream about Lupita Nyong'o in her Oscars '14 Dior pale blue showstopper. Everything about this was just dreamy and we think she looked blooming beautiful!

OOTD, a nod to the sassy seventies

Seeing as everybody seems to be talking about everything 70s from flares to fringing, we thought we’d put our own little spin on the trend with existing staple pieces from our wardrobes in this little outfit of the day post. Sharing a similar fashion sense with a sibling is always fun, it’s as if their wardrobe is a whole new store designed especially to your taste (energy and money saving). We are obsessed with the mural that served as the backdrop for this shoot and thought it would make for a slightly edgier outfit post.

A weekend at home

It may take a four hour long bus journey to travel from the nations capital, Cardiff, to the west coast of Wales but it’s all worth it to spend a bit of quality time at home. We have to be honest with you, Aberystwyth and it’s surrounding villages are hosts to the most B-E-A-utiful views. From coast to countryside it is genuinely difficult to put the camera away, and why would you want to? Everyone turns into an amateur photographer (whenever the sun makes an appearance) the sunsets and endless miles of green hills make for a great escape from the city. If you’re thinking we must just be really bias because it’s our home town then all we suggest you do is have a scroll of this weekend in pictures (it’s a pretty sight even if we do say so ourselves).

Lovely spot of tea and cake with the grandparents, these mini ice bun cakes were delicious.

We're fortunate enough to live just a short bike ride away from the beach. The weekend would not have been complete without a quick visit to the coastline.

One half of TurnerTurner excited to see the tide out, a little moment of joy.

To us there isn't a place like it. Llanrhystud beach looking mighty fine against the country hills. The sky was so blue, you can't beat a saturday afternoon like this.

It's a strange combination of countryside and seaside. Here's a picture of the sheep with their little lambs, just because.

If anyone is in need of a free blow-dry then the beach is the place to go, we came home with the effects of the sea breeze and volume in our hair (results not guaranteed).

Just look at the reflection in the sand. This image should come with a deep and meaningful message but ironically we don't have one so we'll let the picture do the talking..

In the words of the great Judy Garland as the iconic character Dorothy in the Wizards of Oz.. There's no place like home. (queue the cheese balls)

Our Top 8 Favourite Celebrity Sisters

When debating what our first blog post should be we decided that we wanted to write a post about our favourite celebrity sisters in order to celebrate sisterhood. These top 8 duos were obvious choices for us and we hope you enjoy reading about why.

(Image from Pinterest)

Beyonce and Solange, the first pair that came to mind when we thought of celebrity sisters. Here they are rocking matching white frocks at the oscars after party, the sass on Solange’s face  matches Beyonce’s pose perfectly and just shows us these sisters are all about having a good time. The talented duo are equally as cool in our eyes. Who run the world? These girls.

(Image from Pinterest)

Mary Kate and Ashley - one word. Twins. Not your ordinary twins. This two of a kind can pull off crimped hair and rose tinted sunglasses. Their style has evolved from the matching bandanas of ‘holiday in the sun’. Today they're known for being effortlessly cool sitting on the FROW of every major fashion show. Applause to the Olsens.

(Image from Pinterest)

Vanessa and Stella - Despite the near 8 year age gap these two sibs couldn't be more alike, from the perfect pouts on insta to their uh-mazing fashion sense (we couldn't thank Vanessa enough for teaching us how to rock the boho coachella style) Maxis and fringing  at the ready, all hail the Hudgens!

(Image from Pinterest)

Haim - Danielle, Este and Alana = love love love! It’s hard to argue that these californian sisters aren't the coolest band on earth for an endless list of reasons. THAT hair, THAT style, THAT music.. We love that they are sisters who genuinely seem to be best friends (with the addition of a certain Miss. Swift)

(Image from Pinterest)

Dakota and Elle - Forget the LA sun kissed tan, these hollywood sisters embrace their beautiful porcelain skin. From the cat in the hat to being the face of several designer campaigns it feels like we’ve grown up with Dakota. It’s hard not to envy their chic style all over insta and when it comes to this talented pair you just want to see more and more!

(Image from Pinterest)

Suki and Immy - Yes, one half of the Waterhouse's is dating THE Mr.Bradley Cooper, we’d usually be extremely jealous of this lucky lady but it’s different with Suki because we want to be her for several other reasons. With luscious, tousled waves and washboard abs seemingly imbedded in their genes, these two sibs are going to take over the fashion and film world! P.S. we love this pic.

(Image from Pinterest)

Cara and Poppy - The delevigne sisters flying the flag for british cool. Fully cemented in the brit fashion pack with an endless list of A-list friends these two are pretty much unstoppable. Cara’s face is everywhere from magazines to film screens but we love her for her carefree attitude and Tomboy style. Cara is the reason we feel it’s acceptable to wear onesies and of course we love a girl who loves her bacon.

(Image from Pinterest)

And last but not least..

The Kardashians - Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, Kendall and Kylie. This clan of sisters are everywhere and whether you love or hate them they are hard to ignore. If we had to pick a favourite sister it would hands down be Khloe. She’s outrageously funny, sassy and most of all caring. From watching the show you get a sense that she’s the glue that holds the family together but most of all it’s her silly side that we adore. This family of sisters are most definitely our guilty pleasure and we’re sure we’re not the only ones who follow their KRAZY lives. We just had to add the K there…
